I’m very pleased to say that I have completed my latest short film, The London Nobody Knows Now. The original documentary film, The London Nobody Knows was made in 1967 and presented by the great James Mason. This updated version sees me retrace his steps while comparing how London has evolved. Ideally, I would like to make a longer version which would show more of the original while also speaking to fans of the film, documentary filmmakers and historians. In the meantime though and for your viewing pleasure, here is The London Nobody Knows Now.

Love James Mason – love retrospectives – please, please, please can someone commission a full series of these with Dougie… love it, great work!!!!
Great work Dougie! I love James Mason. The scene with him on ‘Clink St.’ and later in the hostel is pure class. Good luck getting it commissioned!
I would love to see a full length version of this too with Douglas presenting.
Great work!
Wonderful short film. I am among the Geoffrey Fletcher fans, ever since my father bought a copy of The London Nobody Knows while we lived there in 1965 and 66 (I grew up otherwise in New York.) Starting in the late 1970s, I began to take snapshots of the places Fletcher drew in the book, and later those in some of his other books (I have an almost complete collection.) In the 80s, some of the locations that survived were barely changed from the 60s. Would have any interest in my highly unsystematic photo collection? Cheers.
Hi David, thank you for getting in touch and for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed the film! I’d be really interested to see your photos, it sounds like you have a great collection. I hope you’re having a good week, all my best, Douglas.
