The initial run of six music podcasts, The Public Service Broadcast, has been completed and I’m pleased to say the reaction to them has been rather lovely. It’s extremely gratifying to have such positive feedback from record companies, fellow broadcasters and DJ’s but most importantly, music fans.
The intention of the show was always to play a mixture of new releases and older, at times esoteric songs while highlighting the work of virtually unknown artists or the lesser known output of established acts. As importantly, the Themeology section of the show where film or TV soundtracks are featured is also a chance to showcase well known and more obscure works. The only real policy throughout was “if it’s good, it’s played”.
It is a great pleasure to source, play and enthuse about music, I can honestly say there is no other subject I like to speak about more and I’m glad the initial six show run has found its way to like minded souls. There will be more to come of course and perhaps a few specials too. For the moment the initial six are all there to listen to. Please enjoy them in clothing of your choosing.
