I’m thoroughly enjoying the Morrissey autobiography. It has been said that along with Bob Dylan’s Chronicles it’s the finest written music memoir ever. I wouldn’t disagree although there is undeniably more humour to Morrissey’s than Bob’s. I found Chronicles a most gratifying read but at no point did I laugh out loud as I did when reading the sentence – “For reasons too terrifying to analyze I had found myself walking around Macclesfield town center one sorry assed afternoon.” It remains uncertain if we will ever learn the backstory.
